By means of top coal caving method, the thick seam ranging from 8 to 12 meters can be excavated at one time, allowing the roof of mined area (comprising initially of coal body) caving without steel netting. By modified design of roof supports, a coal caving mechanism is incorporated at the rear of the support, which can be moved up and down to allow broken coal in the goaf area to spill onto a second armoured face conveyor. This process is continually to operate until all retrievable coal behind the face collected and waste rocks appeared. The comprehensive mechanized top coal caving method can effectively and economically utilize coal resources and excavate even thicker seam in one working face in one time.
Owing to top coal caving mining method, the Company¨s productivity has been greatly improved. Yanzhou Coal has been ranking in the leading level among underground coal mines of China in terms of productivity and unit output per working face for consecutive years. |
