Coal Mine Rescuing Team was established in December 1991. Now it has 7 coal mine rescuing squadrons and 21 rescuing squad, with 67 persons authenticated as senior technicians and 7 persons authenticated as technician, which has set first example for national occupational skills authentication for coal mine rescuing workers. It is a well-equipped, technical advanced paramilitary team, which combining exercise training, safety training, technological services, rescue and relief work, and metering verification of ventilation safety devices as a whole.
    Now it is equipped with over 50 types and hundreds of coal mine rescuing equipment of advanced level both at home and abroad, such as positive pressure breathing apparatus, fire-fighting equipment, different gases testing device, transportation vehicles and means of communication, and large-scale, medium-size, or small coal mine rescuing equipment, which can fully satisfy requirements by rescue and relief work for all kinds of emergent accidents in the regional coal mines. It has achieved safety rescuing without any accidents for 15 consecutive years. In August 2005, “Yanzhou Base of National Coal Mine Rescuing” was formally established and initiated.
    Coal Mine Rescuing Team has won numerous awards and honors as follows. Group championship and personal all-round championship in the Fifth Provincial & National Coalmine Rescuing Skills Competition In 2003, with 6 team member appearing in the competition all ranking in top 10 in personal scores, Runner-up of the Fourth International Coalmine Rescuing Technology Competition in 2004; and Group Runner-up in the Sixth National Coalmine Rescuing Technology Competition. Since 1995, it has been evaluated as “Standard Rescuing Team” by original Ministry of Coal and Rescuing Collaboration Web of East China, endowed with honors of “Excellent Collectivity in Coalmine Rescuing Competition of Shandong Province”, and “Best Entity in Coalmine Rescuing Competition of Shandong Province”, and awarded with honor of “National Demonstration Post as Youth Safety Production” by State Administration of Safety Production, All China Federation of Labor Unions and China Communist Youth League. And it has made contributions to the safety production by Yanzhou Coal and its surrounding local coal mines.
