　　Yanzhou Coal has been in search of opportunities for accessing to Australian coal mining industry so as to export advanced technology and management experiences and construct internationalized trans-national group company. Upon investigation and research in recent years, Yancoal Australia Pty Limited was incorporated in Sydney in November, 18th,2004, with main activities of coal production, preparation, transportation, sales and technology popularization. It has purchased original Southland Coal Mine and renamed as Austar Coal Mine, upon which Austar Coal Mine Pty Limited has set up in November, 29th, 2004 and become a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Yancoal Australia Pty Limited.
　　After five stages of commercial negotiation, assets transfer, production preparation, roadway development and top coal caving mining, it has successfully realized coal mine taking-over and safety operation. Now Austar Coal Mine has progressively undertaken all-round works. After employment of Australian coalmine management personnel and production workers, company management system establishment, legal documents application and approval, getting exemption from ban on roadway development, and engineering construction and equipments procurement, it has successfully started roadway development and production. And it also promotes accession permit process for top coal caving method through communication and exchange with local government, labor union and suppliers. All related preparation works for production has been organized to carry out in order, including overall updating and optimization of coalmine ventilation, drainage, power supply and transportation systems. A favorable circumstance has been created through enhancing contact with local neighborhood and improving understanding and communication. A complete set of top coal caving mining equipments was jointly manufactured by Yancoal Australia Pty Limited and DBT of Germany, and then was equipped as the first complete set of top coal caving equipments of world first class level in Australia. After design, outfitting, manufacturing and underground installation, the equipments have been put into operation in Austar Coal Mine
