Since construction started on December 19, 1993, it was put into trial operation in the end of September 1999, and commercial operation on December 28, 2000. And National Quality Reward on Coal Mine Construction was gained for the engineering construction of Jining III Coal Mine.

        The coal produced by Jining III Coal Mine is prime fat coal, characterized by low ash, low sulfur, low phosphor, high calorific value, high volatility, and can be used as prime steam coal and blending coal with coking coal.

        Main production equipments used by Jining III Coal Mine are introduced from abroad, which technology and equipping are in first rank of the world and 100% Mining comprehensive mechanization of the mine has been achieved. Main characteristics of its production system includes that main transportation roadways underground are arranged along the declined direction of the seam in the coal seam; it adopts advance mining method for mining panels and retreat mining method in workface and takes mining technology of comprehensive mechanized top coal caving and trackless rubber tired locomotives for auxiliary transportation, filling in the gap of trackless transportation for shaft development of China. As at December 31st, 2007, the proven and probable reserve of the main mining seam is about 239.3 million tones.

        Jining III Coal Mine is evaluated as the lowest cost coal-exporting mine of the world by international mining experts.
